This is the first time I ever leave a negative feedback on Amazon! I bought this item about two weeks ago. At first the train sounds were audible but after almost no use (2 times) the volume went drastically down. I thought that it was due to the batteries as they were probably aging in the packaging. First disappointment: Instead of using regular AA or AAA batteries, this toy comes with 3 bottom cell batteries that you need to take out from a less than a 1/2" compartment where they are clustered. I finally made it and were able to take them out of the compartment.
Second disappointment: I got the new batteries and when I inserted them... NO SOUND!! I checked polarity just in case I overlooked, but they were correctly placed. I then tried with the old ones and guess what??? No Sound either. If I could return it, I would but it is more expensive to pay the S&H than the actual toy. Fate decided that I will have a pretty-looking train hub for Mexican Train with no sound...
